Comprehensive Exams Day 5 - A tough one

Today was probably my worst and best day all in one. For writing and the experience it was the worst day - I really struggled with how to write the answer to this question, it was poorly worded and even more vague than the other questions. I'm thinking now that I should have done the other option. I have 10.5 pages written but they are not good pages so there will be a LOT of editing.

It was my best day because Micheal came to see me! It was only for a quick minute since I can't really take long breaks. We ran and got dinner and Kuba Kuba (aren't you jealous mom??) and then I headed back to the grind.

Tomorrow is the last day of questions and I will be addressing the ethics question. Then Sunday is the day of editing and reviewing. And thinking to myself.....what in the world was I thinking when I wrote that?!? (Hopefully not...)

Things I learned today:

The block radius around 808 W. Franklin is totally against me - I needed a bottle of Dr P and the student center was closed, the vending machine was sold out and Sahara was closed. I had to walk to the stinkin' book store - ugh.

I like everything in Cheez-it party mix...except Cheez-its.

When you have a very limited amount of time writing about something you don't know as much about is a LOT easier than writing about something you know a lot about.

The listing agent for our house is not answering her phone when our realtor calls...but she does answer her phone when a "prospective buyer" calls... (I wonder how I know that...)

That as the week progresses the "silliness" that was associated with sleep deprivation is turning to outrage at the process.

That several of the things that I left at home because I thought there would be no way in the world I would need them...would have been helpful.

Alright, 12:30 and I'm signing off to edit (hopefully not totally rewrite) the paper I wrote today. Two more days.....

Comments

Strong finish! Sounds like they should have given you 15 or so pages for this one... Ethics should be an easy one for you, as you are one who is so good at following the rules. Or at least knowing how not to get in trouble(2 hr parking)... I know when you edit on Sun you will be pleased. Just be careful not to second guess yourself, especially with as little sleep as you have had this week. You have been very positive this week and I am sooo proud of you. Don't let anyones grumblings bring you down. "Come on Kari you can do it, put a little power to it, write it out, put it down, pull it out" (Just a little modifed soft ball cheer for you) Much love!!!
